Our first stop on the next part of our exchange was the capital of Germany, Berlin. There was too much to do given that we had just two and a half full days in the city. We made it our goal to give the students from Vanier a taste of what the city was like so that they may come back to Berlin and see more on their own.

It was kind of fun to travel on a train doing 250 km/h

The first night saw some of the group take a walk to the Kurfürstendamm to see the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche and street art

The Urban Nation museum for contemporary art

The next morning, our first full day, saw us start at Potzdamer Platz. Looking back on it Day one was just flat out crazy...so much crammed into one day!

From here the group made their way to the Denkmal für die Ermordeten Juden Europas (Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe). Our students were amazing, they took the gravity of the memorial seriously and honoured the memory of those who died with the import that the memorial demands you take of it.

After some somber time here, the group made their way to the Brandenberger Tor

Then off to the Deutscher Bundestag (Federal parliament building)

Then down the Unter den Linden to Checkpoint Charlie

Over to the Deutscher Dom

and the 19th Century Concert Hall
